Die Hochwurzenhütte (1.850 m ü. A.) ist ein Bergrestaurant in den Schladminger Tauern, direkt am Gipfel der Hochwurzen.
Hochwurzenhütte is a mountain hut and restaurant built in 1920. Its location is quite unique - on the summit of Hochwurzen mountain at an elevation of 1,850 m above sea-level.

  • In summer the hut is open during operation of Hochwurzen cable-car.
  • In winter the hut is open during the ski season.
  • In winter the hut is also open in the evenings during evening operations at Hochwurzen cable-car.

by cableway

Public transport

Public transport via bus reaches the valley station of Hochwurzen cable-car. During Sommercard operating times and the ski season the cable-car takes you directly to the hut on top of Hochwurzen.

By road

Take L722 Rohrmoosstraße to Hochwurzen cable-car valley station or Hochwurzen II chairlift. From each of the two you can either hike to the top (path n° 60) or take the lift (chairlift operates only in winter).

Parking

Parking is available at the Hochwurzen cable-car station and at the Hochwurzen II chairlift.
