Manor house tour: Damtschach, Wernberg, Rosegg and Velden
Region Wörthersee-Rosental Tourismus GmbH Verified partner Explorers Choice
After nearly seven kilometers you will reach the manor house Damtschach, which was built at the beginning of the 16th century and can be visited from 1 May to 10 October only by appointment.. Only a stone's throw away from here is the the next stop, castle Wernberg. The castle was first mentioned in 1227 and is now a monastery. Here you will find delicacies from our own production, fine products from yogurt to homemade noodles and teas that you can buy in the monastery shop from Monday to Saturday. The manor house Rosegg is located about 14 kilometers. There is also a wildlife park where bison, lynx and deer can be observed. Popular with the children here is the petting zoo and the playground where they can enjoy themselves. In the manor house itself is a small museum and in front of it a garden maze. After an extensive visit to the Rosegg, the path leads back to the starting point with a final stop at the famouse manor house Velden. Built in the 16th century, it is located on the shore of Lake Wörthersee and has been used, with brief interruptions, as a hotel since the end of the 19th century.
