We will not be hiking: we will be following the path of the fox. He always builds his den in the woods of Polana and we can follow his tracks through the forest. Experience excitement, enjoy the landscape, awaken your spirit of discovery and have fun on the playgrounds! Quiet and secluded, from the foray-protections to the chicken coops of Oberaich Forest. For us this tour will help you enjoy life, blow of some steam and experience history. Be amazed by the forest and meadows, watch the butterflies, birds and flowers- the hike offers over fifty birdhouses for close encounters with nature!

Turn-by-turn directions
You start this tour on the same route as the hike around Lake Faak, walking along the Worounitza Creek from the Lake Faak estuary through the Alluvial Forest (Auwald). The Worounitza Creek (Slovenian for “pine creek”) springs up from under the Mittagskogel and is transported from there to Lake Faak, stone by stone. This creek is responsible for the turquoise coloring of the lakes because the lime particles reflect off the sun and into the lake. On this section of the hike it is fun to walk barefoot and let the stones tickle your feet. Continue the hike through the obstacle course, past a former sawmill, through the woods and over a small bridge. Now you are almost to Lake Aichwald! The small, sleepy, deep-green lake is a nature reserve along with its reed belt. You have earned a bit of refreshment by this point, so feel free to take a dip in the lake. After drying off, you continue to follow the Fox Trail to a beautiful meadow with a playground. A special highlight is the giant, family-sized hammock and the petting zoo in Oberaich Forest. It is recommended to spend a bit of time at this stop. After leaving the meadow, you walk through Oberaich Forest for a view of Lake Faak and after a steep descent, you are back to the starting point.
