the blue gentian flowers from May to July. The gentian used to flavour schnapps is not this species but the rarer Great Yellow Gentian (Gentiana lutea). You may find a garnet during the walk. Garnet is a dark red semi-precious stone.
Author’s recommendation
you can enjoy dairy products freshly made at Lammersdorf hut and the filling “Hüttenpfandl” made with speck, eggs and bread. The manager of the refuge will guide you round the hut and will play a special instrument to bring good cheer to all.
