Through a forest hiking trail you reach the Südwienerhütte, which is situated in the middle of the mountain world of the Radstädter Tauern. The stunning view from Spirzinger (2066 m) is really a highlight. If you like, you can extend the tour over the ridge to Spatzeck (2065 m).

Possibility for lunch: Unterbichlhütte, Südwienerhütte, Scharfetthütte

Author’s recommendation

With some luck you can watch groundhogs (or "Mangei" as we say here) and who keeps calm maybe can shoot a few photos from these wonderful animales.

On the Scharfetthütte is a binoculars ready to enjoy the wonderful panorama and to observe wild animals.
