From Rifugio Auronzo around the Three Peaks

There are several ways to approach the Three Peaks. The easiest is the ascent on the toll road to the Rifugio Auronzo. Already at the car park, you stand directly at the feet of the world-famous Three Peaks. The price for this is the lack of mountain solitude, because in the high season in summer, tourist crowds populate the area around the Auronzo hut. From the hut, we first walk along the south side of the massif to the Lavaredo hut, before an ascent brings us to the Paternsattel. Here we get very close to the breathtakingly steep north faces of the Three Peaks. At the foot of the Paternkofel we cross over to the Dreizinnenhütte, where we can make a stop for a break on the terrace of the hut. As the loop continues, we cross the large karst plateau of the Langenalpe on the north side of the Three Peaks, where the three picturesque peaks lakes are nestled.
