Turn-by-turn directions

Start in Oberdorf at the bus stop for Pöllatal. Turn right at the first crossing and walk approximately 500 metres uphill along the asphalted path until you reach Abwerzg and then continue in the direction of Zanaischg. When you reach the signpost for Winkler and/or path no. 11, follow this path (turning right). When you reach Winkler farmhouse (gate), a short, wide section of a forest path leads to Leitensteig. This partially flat and/or sloping path leads through the forest beyond Oberdorf towards Gries. There are plenty of wooden benches along the way where you can stop a while and enjoy the countryside. You can leave Leitensteig via the crossroads with the Way of the Cross to Oberdorf or you can continue to the end point in Saraberg/Mühlbach, returning on the asphalted road via Gries (access road) to the starting point in Oberdorf.

Note: connecting route no. 12 leads from Zanaischg over Strafneralm (unmanaged) with beautiful views of unspoilt nature.
