this excursion is for real mountain lovers; it passes by different shepherds’ huts and climbs to the top of several of the major peaks in the Latschur group.

situated to the south of Spittal, Goldeck exceeds 2000 m. In the past an attempt was made to mine gold on the mountain but due to the lack of profitability the project was soon given up.

simple and genuine mountain delicacies at Gusenalm shepherd’s hut (1740 m) and at Goldeck refuge.

Turn-by-turn directions

you start from Seetal car-park. The route takes you to Gusenalm shepherd’s hut (1740 m), then past Siflitzer Hütte refuge on Latschur (2236 m), past Eckwand (2221 m), and up to the summit of Staff (2217 m). You pass Gusenalm shepherd’s
hut once again and climb to the top of Goldeck (2142 m) and then return to the departure point.
