Hike on the sunny side of the Gitschtal from Weißbriach to St. Lorenzen im Gitschtal and along the Gössering back to Weißbriach. The Stoffelbauerweg is easy to hike and offers rest stops along the route.

A short or even slightly longer rest at the Stoffelbauer is highly recommended.

Turn-by-turn directions
From the protestant church in Weißbriach we walk towards Hermagor, always following the signs Stoffelbauerweg. We continue along the forest path to St. Lorenzen/ G. The forest path leads onto an asphalt road just below the Catholic church of St. Lorenzen/ G. We turn right onto this and walk through the village to the Gösseringbrücke. After the bridge we turn right and walk along the Gössering back to Weißbriach. To get back to the starting point, the protestant church of Weißbriach, we have to cross the Schwarzenbach and the Gössering after the company Holzbau Hubmann with the help of two wooden footbridges.

Public transport
From Villach the train takes you to Hermagor. From there the bus line 5066 goes to Weißbriach.
By plane
The nearest airport is in Klagenfurt.
Airport transfers are available via Gitschtalreisen Wastian and Mobilbüro Hermagor.
