The three huts tour leads from Millstatt via Tschierweg and the Millstätter Alm road to the three huts of the Millstätter Alm. All three huts offer excellent cuisine and wonderful views of the mountains and lakes,

The route is on asphalt up to the Millstätter Alm Straße toll booth, then on a gravel road without any particular difficulties to the Schwaigerhütte. There begins an alpine path that makes a loop to the Millstätter Hütte and Alexanderhütte.

The route can be done with any off-road bike, but the altitude difference and the exposure to the south should not be underestimated.

Author’s recommendation

For good bikers, the descent over the Millstätter Hometrail T.48 (S2) is a pleasure.

Turn-by-turn directions

From Millstatt am See, the tour leads across the market square and via Großdombra to the Millstätter See high plateau. In Tschierweg, turn right onto the Millstätter Almstraße, which leads to the Schwaigerhütte. The highlight of the tour is the circular route between the three huts directly on the Millstätter Alm. All three huts are managed and not only seduce with their excellent cuisine, but also with a fabulous panoramic view of Lake Millstätter See.
