The Sansily Trail - T72 is a mountain bike single trail for beginners, which, however, also gives advanced bikers a lot of fun. It is characterized by its flowing design and the particularly playful trail sections. The trail itself is about 0.9 km long and divided into three sections. The trail entrance can be reached either via MTB Tour 12 and the Van Durren trail - T71 (somewhat easier) or via MTB Tour 14 (very steep and more suitable for e-bikes).

Author’s recommendation

Before pedaling to the entrance of the Sansily Trail, first ride the Miki and Mini Trail and the Cody Trail. Only when these can be ridden safely, the descent on the Sansily Trail is really fun.

Turn-by-turn directions

The Sansily Trail - T72 starts above the village Ostriach directly in the forest and ends in the MTB Tour 14.

Start of the access

To get to the Sansily Trail - T72, it is best to start from one of the parking lots in the center of Ossiach. Starting from the parking lot in front of the municipal office, all transfer routes (feeders) to the trails are also signposted.

Description of the access road to the trail entrance:

General part of the access road

Starting from the municipal office in Ossiach, first drive in the direction of the main road (L49). At the junction with the L49, turn right and follow the R2A cycle path for about 1.5km in a westerly direction. At the entrance to Camping Kölbl you can now choose between a very steep ascent, which is more suitable for e-bikes, and a normal ascent.

Variant 1: The somewhat easier ascent via MTB Tour 12

From the entrance to Camping Kölbl, follow the R2A bike path for one kilometer. Along the cycle path you will then see an MTB sign with the indications MTB Tour 12 and 13 to the left. Here you turn left over the L49 and follow the beginning forest road upwards. Be careful when crossing the main road! When doing so, please just follow the MTB Tour 12 signs until you reach a sign that says "Transfer - Van Durren Trail". Turn left here. Caution. The first bit down is unfortunately a bit steeper. If you don't feel up to it, push the first few feet. From here it is only a few meters to the trail entrance of the Van Durren Trail - T71. Either continue along the Van Durren Trail to the Sansily Trail (recommended) or continue straight along the trail to the next intersection you are about to cross. After a short steeper section, you will find the entrance to the Sansily Trail - T72 on your left.

Variant 2: The very steep and difficult ascent via MTB Tour 14

From the entrance to Camping Kölbl, turn left across the L49 (be careful when crossing the main road!) and follow the course of the asphalt road up until you reach the start sign of the "Cahllenger Tour - 14". Here you turn right into the forest road and follow the very steep forest road and the signs of tour 14 until you reach the trail entrance. Tip: As a treat, you can also ride the Van Durren Trail - T71 first.

Sansily Trail - T72

When you arrive at the trail entrance, simply follow the trail and the signs to the forest road.

Once there, you can take a short steep descent to the asphalt road. From here you can either return to the starting point or take a short right to get to the Cody Trail, which leads directly down into the valley.
