Verditz moutain is a lovely reacreational area and offers entertaining but easy hiking tours in the Nock mountains.

From the village of Afritz follow the Verditzer road until you reach the Lärcheboden parking area. From there, this moderate hike leads past the idyllic Schwarzsee up to the Palnock (1,901 meters). Follow the beautiful forest trail no. 27 up to the Schwarzsee. After a stroll aroung this small lake you can strengthen yourself in the Schwarzsee hut, which is open from mid-May until early October. Then continue to westwards on the ridge towards the Palnock. Passing smaller ponds on the Frießner Alp, follow the way to the summit, which is marked by a stone monument. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view (e.g. Lake Millstätter See) before walking back- Near the Schwarzsee Hut, you have to take the trail no. 28, on wich you turn right after about 1 km towards the Steinhauser hut. Shortly afterwards you will reach the Verditzer road, which you have to follow uphill towards the starting point.

Take the motorway exit A10 - Villach Ossiacher See and follow the road towards Treffen and Radenthein. In Afritz look out for signs, saying "Verditz" and follow the road upwards.Parking
