Turn-by-turn directions

This hiking trail starts in Kohlstattstraße (the road between Drobollach and Faak) near the parking lot (N 46 5838339 / E 13 9051938) – just look out for the signs. After only a few meters you will reach the first adventure station (station 1 - A forest for explorers) with an oversized wooden foot as an insect hotel. Here you also have the possibility to download the story to the route using QR code as a PDF file on your mobile phone. The small booklet about this trail can also be picked up free of charge at the tourist information offices in Drobollach and Faak am See. Follow the yellow signpost towards the direction “Polana Weide” and the tree markings which lead west deeper into the forest. After a few minutes you will reach the second station with two small ponds (Station 2 – The Dragon´s Landing Place). Crossing the forest road  you are now slightly ascending until you come to a crossroads. Follow the signposts towards “Hubertusquelle” and you will reach  another pond (station 3 - The Pond of Tears). Now there are two options for the further way to the Hubertusquelle. You can either walk barefoot in the small brook and along the forest road (station 4 - The Hubertusquelle). After a short cooling of your lower arms in the cold water you walk westwards and after a few minutes you will reach a pasture called “Polana” (station 5 - The Clearing in the Forest). It is worth to take a longer rest under the wing of the dragon before you follow the way back again for some meters. At the next fork, turn to the left.

With small children, it is advisable to return now to the parking lot, as the rest of the trip will go on for about one hour. With older children you branch off to the left and cross through the pine forest . Shortly after a bench you will reach another signpost. Here you stay on the path until you get to a feeding crib for wild animals, where you have to turn right. Along the Way of St. James (path no. 40), you are now again heading towards Drobollach and a stage with balancing challenges (station 6 – The Dragon´s Resting Area). At the next station (station 7 - The Square of the many Puzzles), turn right into a small forest path and follow the path to the next station (station 8 - Listening Island ) where you can enjoy the sounds of the forest. The path continues eastwards and turns into a broader forest path, leading to a clearing with a view of the mountain Mittagskogel. This is where the water source is and it is also the last station ( station 9 - The Magic Source) and the dissolution of the story. From the source follow the markings, descend slightly towards south and after a few minutes your will be back at  the parking lot.
