Safety information

We ask all cyclists to please not bike all the way to the summit!! Please use only the allowed streets, in this case "Gerlitzen Mautstrasse" (Gerlitzen tollway) to Bodensdorf, for the descent!  Mountain bikers do not use the trails as tourists, because they ride on the paths and are therefore excepted from the "Wegefreiheit" (path freedom).

Control your speed on the descent and pay attention to traffic.  Above all, follow the "Mountainbike Fairplay" rules!

Turn-by-turn directions

This beautiful bike ride begins at the foot of the Gerlitzen Alps in Annenheim.  You can either take the gondola to the middle station of Gerlitzen or you can ride up B94 “Ossiacher See Strasse” and get on the bike path on the shores of the Ossiacher See (Lake Ossiach) at your first chance.  Follow the bike path and you will soon reach the “Fischerweg” shortly before “Bodensdorf in St. Urban.”  Take the “Fischerweg” back to B94.  Soon you will reach “Gerlitzenstrasse” going towards “Tschöran.”  After a few minutes on this path you take another left and follow the “Gerlitzen Mautstrasse” (Gerlitzen tollway) without any important turns until reaching the “Bergeralm” (Mountain & Spa Resort Feuerberg), which is the highest point of the bike ride.  Take the same route to get back to the starting point!
