Heading out from Klopeiner See to Kühnsdorf you then take the Völkermarkter bridge with beautiful views along the river Drau.
Going through the market town of Völkermarkt you head out on quiet roads to Haimburg before starting your climb to Diex. The climb is quite famous in the region and is used by local cyclists and clubs alike and runs for 9 km climbing 655 hm on an excellent road surface. When you reach the village you are rewarded with amazing views all along the Karawanken mountain range.
Care must be taken when descending to Brückl on the uneven mountain road, then a short time along the cycle way before going back on very quiet roads through the villages to St. Margarethen.
Take care on the short crossing of the B70 main road before riding to Tainach, across the Drau and a final short climb back to St. Kanzian.
