Turn-by-turn directions
The ride starts in Villach and begins in the direction of „Obere Fellach.” From there the ride is almost always uphill until “Bad Bleiberg.” After a short rest in the idyllich “Bergbau-Dorf” the route goes past the Erlach Cemetery downwards to Nötsch. From there you begin the climb to “Windische Höhe” (the windy peak), which is a connection point between the Gail and the Drau valleys. The path then takes you through small villages until you get to the “Weissensee,” the least disturbed lake in Carinthia. We recommend taking a break here to enjoy the lake’s beauty.
After this break you will bike further into the Drau valley (Drautal)- from Zlan to Olsach, where you get onto the “Drauradweg” (Drau bike path). If you are riding a racing bike you can also use the main road. This will take you back to Villach, passing through Feistritz, Paternion, Weissenstein, Puch and Gummern on the way.
