When you ski back, take the southwest moat between Murnovc and Schwarzkogel. Then you can return by foot to the saddle where you will cross the border. If you want to extend the tour, you can also go up to the Murnovc (1866 m).

Avoid north sided slopes and forests when the wind is coming in from the south! In general, the descent in the forest requires advanced skiing skills.
From the parking lot, step through the so called “Druidentor” and keep to the right. After a few meters you will reach the old ski slope. Although the slope is not used anymore, walk up on the left side of the slope. Almost at the end of the slope, you will reach a path on your left, which you have follow into a ditch. Then, follow the hiking signs (route no. 683) on the way through the forest. The way is quite steep until you reach a wide forest road at approximately 1100 meters above sea level. Here keep to your left and follow the road to the next bend, where you will find the next signpost towards the old Mitzl-Moitzl Hütte. Stay on the narrow path (countless serpentines waiting for you), go past the Panierhütte (formerly used by custom control guards). A few minutes later you will reach a small flat area. Stay on the summer trail, which will lead you downhill for a bit and then walk through a magnificent larch forest on a gentle slope upwards to Mitzl-Moitzl Hütte (1639 meters). At the hut, turn left for a short climb up to the border saddle (1710 meters). Turn to the left, cross the ridge, and then climb up the next saddle. From there walk over the western slope to the tree-free summit of the Schwarzkogel. Follow the same way back to the starting point.
