Safety information
Beware of traffic in between Ledenitzen and Unterferlach!
This bike ride starts by the big parking lot at the entrance of „Natur-Aktiv-Park.“ From there you follow the “Parcourweg” (obstacle course path) through the forest until you reach a big prairie right before Ledenitzen. From there the path leads you on quiet side-streets through Unterferlach and Mallentzen until reaching the Drau River. Follow the path here upstream until getting to Rosegg, where you will get on a path that takes you past the Celtic World in Frög, the zoo in Rosegg, and the castle in Rosegg- all of these attractions are worth a visit! After a short stop in Rosegg you follow the path to the small village of Emmersdorf, then take the “Drauradweg” (Drau bike path) towards Villach. Between Wudmath and Föderlach you should make a quick stop at the Föderlach Biotope and enjoy the unique world of plants and animals. After that you go over the Drau bridge to the other bank and over a fairly steep hill (Ribnik) to “Egg am Faaker See.” From there it is a pleasant ride back to the starting point.
Public transport
There is a bus stop about 150 meters from the start of the ride.
Getting there
Faaker See is best reached with the A2 highway- exit at "Villach-Faaker See." The starting point of the ride is on the east side of the lake, by the campgrounds.
Parking
There are plenty of parking spots by the starting point.
