A short and easy hike for the whole family through the moor of Finkenstein.
The Finkensteiner Moor is situated to the west of Lake Faak between Finkenstein and Faak am See . It mainly consists of extensive reed beds and is crossed by two brooks, namely by the Rauschenbach and the Faaker Seebach. There is also a bycicle trail going right through the area .
The Finkensteiner Moor is an important habitat and breeding ground for birds on their migratory routes. It is an important resting and feeding place. Additionally, it contains some rare large butterflies , dragonflies and damselflies. Since 1984 most parts of the moor are designated as a nature reserve .
Along the bike path through the Finkensteiner Moor a theme path was created with a total of 10 information panels.
